Mother of Fatma Gul (Grade-1)
None of us ever imagined what a difference just past two months would make in our lives. We never thought the unforeseen “Covid-19” could alter the landscape for school education. However, Al-Ala, being resilient to change, quickly ventured into academic cyberspace for exploring novel ways to connect and teach students virtually. While we were all adapting to different work and collaboration models, the newness and the experiences were all unique to each one of us. Our policy was to understand, acknowledge, and to do our best to equip our children to navigate this new normal. Therefore, you must have noticed that we launched our e learning program the very first week. We considered it vital to stay connected and to support each other emotionally, spiritually, and physically. In the first phase of our e learning program we trained our teachers, initiated Zoom classes for our O Level and Hifz students and designed e learning self-study packs for Prenursery-GVIII and WhatsApp to students. Then, we moved our senior school Tarbiyyah Classes online and started 30 Days Tarbiyyah Course Asa’feer ul A’la for our Young Al-Alians (G1-5).
In the second phase we prepared very innovative e homework for our students G1-G8 and we launched Google Classrooms for Sr-I, II students. In the third phase we constructed Google Classrooms (G1-8) and launched Homework Help Portal for G1-Sr2. In fourth phase we launched zoom classes for G1-8 and constructed Google Classrooms for our preschoolers.
We hope our e learning program will provide teacher-led support to our students and empower them to learn key skills, while also arming parents with resources to support them as their kids learn at home.
May Allah(SWT) accept this effort and May His special MERCY and REHMA protect us all in these grim time. Ameen! Stay home, stay safe and stay blessed.
Sincerely,
Iram Zahra

Personal online behavior that increases the likelihood of, or causes, harm The internet dominates large amounts of our young people’s leisure time. We need to look at ways to ensure that their online behavior does not lead to unsafe situations – for themselves or for others – and what steps can be taken to regulate online activity. Different age may require different set of monitoring levels. But there are certain things that can stay the same regardless of your kids’s age. For instance, all computers should be located in a central area of the house and no mobile phones allowed in the bed room beyond certain hour of the night. Parents can even do a spot check on their child’s devices.
Being subjected to harmful online interaction with other users Social networks on the internet allow large numbers of people to make contact with others, some of whom they might not know personally or who may not reveal their true identity. Some of the risks, children face online include identity theft, cyberbullying and grooming. Speak to your child regularly about what they watch and read online. Having a one off conversation is not enough. Talk to them about the latest online trends so they know that you are aware about what is happening in the online world. Join our eparenting groups to keep yourself updated on the latest digital trends
Being exposed to illegal, inappropriate or harmful material Internet users of all ages can access a world of information. Much of it is useful, but it is becoming increasingly easy to access material which could be considered harmful. This includes online gaming sites which promote violence or racism, websites encouraging anorexia, self-harm or suicide and sites containing inappropriate and pornographic images. Familiarize yourself with the app they are on and start monitoring their activities. After downloading the same app as your child do a Google search on the app. Type in keywords such risks, reviews, privacy and usage. These keywords can give you a wealth of information about the app.
“Being a mother, I was worried about Faizan’s studies during this unforeseen situation but the reason for writing is to render my heartfelt gratitude to Al-Ala, to all the teachers who are putting in so much effort just to ensure that learning doesn’t stop. You not only displayed immense flexibility to “bend like a willow” but also to challenge the uncertainly imposed by Covid-19. The true feat, however, is not only flexibility but the urge to continue & look beyond the uncertainly to demonstrate persistence and excellence. I appreciate the well-designed virtual classes with appropriate course content that you are teaching. I would like to thank the entire school faculty for putting in so much effort during these hard days”. Mother of Faizan (G-VII)
Alhamdulilah! I am at peace now that my daughter is learning daily with e-Al-Ala through interactive videos, zoom online classes, under the supervision of energetic staff of Al-Ala teachers and cooperative Management. Well-done Team Al-Ala! May Allah SWT add more barakah in your efforts. Ameen!

“I wanted to take a moment to thank all the lovely teachers as the homework is explained so well by them. I feel very proud that my children study in such a wonderful school under the supervision of such knowledgeable teachers. The way the teachers explain everything is so amazing. My son’s Muhammad Ayyan and Abdul Raheem looks forward to these weekly videos. Love to all the teachers who are spending so much time on in preparing awesome activities along with their household chores during these tough times. Your hard work is highly appreciated and a big thank you to you all”.
Mother of Muhammad Ayyan (Prep) and Abdul Raheem (Prenursery)
I’d like to say a big Thank You to Al-Ala and all the teachers who have helped started up these classes. It has given my child Bisma Bilal (Grade 3) more motivation towards her studies. Even though the class is for 40 minutes, she thoroughly enjoys this time. A child always learns more through a respected teacher no matter how hard a mother tries. They don’t get through so much. I’m truly very grateful to you all. JazakAllah Hu Khai
I hope, you must be enjoying good health with the grace of ALLAH (SWT). The Al-Ala Family is doing a wonderful job in such the pandemic and the efforts of the teachers are worth appreciable. For contributing in such manner while sitting at home with all the increased responsibilities and pressure from family, You and your team deserve a salute.
